Activities and Outings

BirdLife Northern Rivers hold outings, conduct bird surveys, and host information booths at local fairs and festivals.  All members are welcome to participate.   Our primary outings are held on the second Sunday of the month commencing at 7.30 am NSW time.  Informal meetings are held at the end of these outings, during morning tea.  Other members walk on Thursdays around the Kingscliff to Tweed Heads area.   We also conduct monthly wader surveys of the Tweed Estuary and specific surveys for Landcare Groups, National Parks and Wildlife and monitor Important Bird Areas (IBA).

Contact us by email at  tweedbirds@bigpond.com especially about a Sunday outing.

Please look at the page “Outings Current Year” under this page on the menu to see where we are going next. Bird lists from previous outings are also available from our menu.

Members please comment with details of additional outings here so that other members can join you.

Please also put any questions or suggestions about the calendar or other activities in a comment to this post.

  1. 1) You could just copy and paste the text into a NEW reply (rather than a nested reply such as this one) in the Leave a Reply (comment)box at the bottom of this page.
    2) Alternatively you could upload the file to a server on the internet (such as your webspace at bigpond. You would then make a NEW reply and type in some introductory text such as a title and then copy and paste the url (e.g. http://www.bigvolcano.com.au/custom/birdos/media/docs/TVListdec08.xls) directly into the reply.
    3) You could email the document (preferably a locked pdf file) to me and I could include it in a new POST.
    4) If you feel comfortable with making posts we could arrange a user name and password and you could make a new POST yourself. In that case you would be uploading the file yourself to the TBO/WordPress server. If you do so I will be automatically notified and I can check to make sure you haven’t mucked up!
