February outing took us to  ‘Woodstone’ in Dunbible. Twenty one members and guests identified 41 bird species.  Our list  is available for viewing at:   Woodstone 2 12 12

March outing took us to Flat Rock and Lake Chikiba.  TBO joined Birdlife Northern NSW participants from their annual campout this year at Lennox Heads.  The bird list of the day will be added here for viewing soon.

April outing took us to Crams Farm on Clarrie Hall Dam.  Members identified 53 bird species. Our list is available for viewing at: Crams Farm 8 4 12

May outing took us to the Ukerebagh Nature Reserve in Tweed Heads.  Members identified 74 species.  Our list is available for viewing at: Ukerebagh 13 05 2012

June outing took us to the Byron Wastewater Treatment Plant. Fifteen members braved the cold and rainy weather.  Though much time was spent in the bird hide or the covered porch of the meeting hut we spotted 51 species.  I enjoyed seeing the Black Swans and Grey Teals.  Jan Olley from Byron Bird Buddies shared with us her PowerPoint presentation on migrating bush birds.  We enjoyed swapping bird stories, learning about bird migration, and hearing the calls. July outing took us to the Cudgen Nature Reserve on Round Moutain Road.  Members identified 48 species.  Our list is available for viewing at: Cudgen Nature Reserve 8.7.12

August outing took us to the Hosanna Farmstay, Stokers Siding.  Members identified 48 species under warm sunny conditions.  Highlights include a mature male Regent Bowerbird and a Peregrine Falcon.  Our list is available for viewing at: Hosanna Farmstay 12 8 2012

September outing took us to Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve. Members identified 56 species under warm and sunny conditions.  Hightlights include a Beach Stone-curlew and Eastern Curlews. Our list is available for viewing at: Brunswick 9 Sep2012

October outing took us to Rocky Creek Dam.  Members identified 74 species under fine and sunny conditions.  Highlights include the Pale Yellow Robin, Black-faced and Spectacled Monarchs, and the Paradise Riflebird. Our list is available for viewing at: Rocky Creek Dam 14-10-12

November outing took us to the Chinderah Sewage Treatment Plant. Members identified 54 species under windy and rainy conditions.  Highlights include the Latham Snipe and Chestnut -breasted Mannikin. Our list is available for viewing at: Chinderah STP 11 Nov 2012

December outingtook us to Booyong Nature Reserve.  Members identified 46 species under fine and sunny conditions.  Highlights include the Rose -crowned Fruit-dove, male Regent Bowerbird, and Brown Geryone.  Our list is available for viewing at: Boonyong NR 9-12-12
